Pharmacokinetics

Aclovate enters the bloodstream after being absorbed through the skin. The liver then metabolizes it, and the urine is produced as a result.

Pregnancy and lactation

Use of aclova during pregnancy is not advised unless the potential benefit outweighs the potential risk to the fetus. Nursing mothers should not use aclova.

How should you take Aclovate?

As advised by your doctor, aclovate should be applied to the skin's affected area. Wash your hands immediately after using Aclovate. Apply Aclovate no more frequently than four times per day. Be sure to carefully adhere to the doctor's instructions if you're using Aclovate on a child.

Apply Aclovate as soon as you can if you miss a dose. Skip the missed dose and resume your regular dosing schedule if your next dose is almost due. Do not apply two doses at once.

What if you overdose on Aclovate?

It is unlikely that an Aclovate overdose would be harmful. On the other hand, prolonged use of high doses can result in negative side effects. Contact your neighborhood poison control center or emergency room right away if you suspect that you or someone else may have taken an overdose of Aclovate.

Storage

Aclovate should be kept in a dark, dry place at room temperature. Avoid freezing. Keep out of children's reach.
